I was scared to go at first but from first appt, everyone made me feel comfortable and they try multiple things to help.  Craig has hands of wonder, Dave is a pro with a scraper, Kelly is a bumblebee of good vibes. Nicki and "Johnny" are awesome. Everyone is so friendly and caring. They really listen to you to help get you feeling better! Craig has a such a great personality! But like I said everyone is wonderful. I'd give a 10 if I could. From my first visit to my last one a few weeks ago , the staff was just great. They got me through two knee replacements ,they didn't let me give up even on the days I wasn't feeling it and pushed me to do what I needed to do to get my knees better. I did therapy even before my first knee replacement in October to get my strength built up and it made a big difference. I felt like they cared about me getting my knees better. I actually looked forward to going there  on my scheduled days.I was always treated with respect there. I'm so glad I chose to go here, one of the reasons being it's close to my house. A huge shout out to Melissa, Rae, John, Nikki, Dave,Missy, Jaicie, Kelly and others that I don't remember names. For anyone that needs physical therapy for any reason I definitely recommend FSPT in South Parkersburg  and give them 5 stars. I would give more than 5 if there was a way to do so.

I have not found that seeking medical help is always beneficial so I as a rule if possible I avoid it. That said, FSPT was recommended to me by a local surgeon. I have never been more pleased with the result I am continuing to get from their expertise. The staff are all kind and attentive to needs which is wonderful but bottom line for me is pain relief, and results that improve my mobility. I’ve gotten it all at this south side FSPT facility! FSPT did a great job improving my leg pain, balance, and strength.  Melissa was efficient and friendly when checking patients in and scheduling appointments.  Ray is a ray of sunshine as she always seems to have a smile on her face.  John and Kelli were amazing therapists.  Both were caring and knowledgeable during treatments. By order of my Dr out of marietta memorial , I needed physical therapy due to a pinched nerve in my neck. Me and Dr Marcus Nicholas chose this place . Everyone here was awesome,  very kind and understanding and new exactly what they were doing and cared immensely. Dr Frank Baker,  Dave, Melissa were the three I spent the most time with and they all took great care of me. When I had my first appointment I was in so much pain and could hardly turn my neck with out shaking really bad , Frank worked with me the first appointment to evaluate me and see what I needed . I had a total of 9 appointments over the course of 4weeks and as each appointment went they put me through weird but yet serious stretches and exercises and eventually lifting weights , some of the stretches I've never done before but they definitely worked . As my 9th and final appointment ended and Melissa had put me threw the ringer lol which I told her not to take it easy on me because I want to get off light duty and get back to normal work , Melissa and Dave are top notch wonderful people who know exactly what they are doing. And then there's the boss man Frank,  the guy is hilarious and highly intelligent,  he did my final evaluation on the 9th appointment and after everything he, Dave and Melissa put me through I was no longer in pain, I could turn my neck easily and the measurements Frank took where far better then expected and blew the first appointment out of the water. I feel great, I can move 40 plus lbs and more easily , no pain , it's awesome. Frank , Dave and Melissa thank you so very much , everyone that works there seems purdy cool but these are the three that got me back to normal and strong again. The exercises, stretches, & maneuvers include traditional ones, as well as some I've never experienced before. They're uniquely aimed at the needs of each person. The facility employees are courteous, friendly, and understanding. Physical therapy was and is a huge help to getting better, but you have to put in the work as well. The therapist can only help and guide someone to getting better. This is my first experience with physical therapy. I love the staff. I like to give Frank a hard time but I actually think he's brilliant. I always look forward to Liz using the dry needling technique on my knee, hip and leg. My job usually drives my afternoon schedule. They go out of their way to get me in when I need to. I was referred here for help with pain and tightness in my heel and ankle after running due to tendonosis and heel spurs. It was bad enough that I could barely walk some days, had trouble getting out of my car or out of bed in the morning, and could hardly sleep some nights because of the pain. I'd been dealing with it for about a year and a half and was feeling like it was never going to get better. After a few months of physical therapy at FSPT, though, I'm back to running a few times a week with nearly zero pain afterwards. I feel like I can do whatever physical activities I want in a normal way for the first time since I started having problems. I worked with a lot of people in my time in PT, and every one of them was amazing, all so helpful, knowledgeable, patient and understanding. They make the experience and environment there very chill and pleasant. Not a single complaint, highly recommended! I'd bet whatever you might have going on, they can probably help!

Southside First Settlement is the best. Missy, Dave, Frank, Lexie, Melissa, and Lara are the best. During my recovery they answered my questions about my aches and pains, comforted me when I was feeling overwhelmed by the process, and assured me I was on the right track. All the therapists went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable with my session. I also liked that they would ask about my week, my plans for the weekend, etc.  I highly recommend Southside for everyone going through therapy. I had my clinical rotation here for a Wood County Technical Center class. I was integrated into their team for just over a month. Not only did I learn a huge amount of knowledge about physical therapy, but I also got an inside look of how they operate. They give the upmost respect and excellent quality of care to every single patient, every single day. They will accommodate anyone and their physical therapy needs. Physical therapy is awful and painful for most people, but necessary! However, First Settlement goes the extra mile by adding a fun twist to therapy through Xbox Kinect. Various games can target different muscle groups to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion. I had my PCL replaced in my knee in May of 2016, and started physical therapy 2 days later at FSPT. The staff at this location are fantastic. I worked with Lexie the majority of the time, but I enjoyed working with every person there. Every physical therapist there was great to work with.  I was in therapy for almost a year, so the physical therapists and I got to know each other on a personal level. They saw me at my worst, but through all the hard work, and pushing through the tears, my knee has never been better. They kept pushing me and I'm so thankful that they did. I know my knee wouldn't be as strong as it is now without the great staff at FSPT in South Parkersburg. Even after I was cleared, they still check in to make sure I'm still doing great. They don't treat their patients like just another person, they treat you like family. I highly recommend this place and the great physical therapists that work there!

The First Settlement staff at the South Parkersburg location is nothing short of amazing. I first met them when my oldest daughter injured her shoulder in cheerleading, they got her moving and back in the game.  Our next encounter was with my grandma who had broken her arm, they took their time and were very caring with her. They got her back to her old self and driving again.  Now for the past year and half they have been treating my youngest daughter who has CMT. They have been such blessing to us. Not only do they make therapy fun for her but they have made progress with her and built up her confidence in the process. We are always greeted with a smile and have had a wonderful experience with the entire staff from physical therapist to the the physical therapy assistants and the office staff. I had many sessions with First Settlement, at the Parkersburg Pike St location. I was suffering from a herniated disc, and major sciatica issues. At First Settlement, they made me feel like they wanted me to get better. They were encouraging, positive, and really spend the personal time working with you, that you need. I had been to other local physical therapy facilities, that I did not feel very comfortable with, and even the buildings themselves were congested, and dark. First Settlement was clean, comfortable, and very spacious, that made for plenty of room to do your personal therapy. If I ever need physical therapy again, I would choose First Settlement, at this particular location for sure. Highly recommended!
