Hip Problems Treatable with Physical Therapy

hip problems

Hip Replacement – Total hip replacement is a surgical procedure for replacing the hip joint. It is usually performed for severe arthritic conditions. Most patients who have artificial hips are over 55 years of age. Following surgery, physical therapy will help strengthen the muscles that support the new hip.

Hip and Thigh Pain – The majority of long-term hip problems are associated with aging, disease (such as arthritis) and fractures. Pain can also be caused by injury to the muscles, tendons or bursas, usually from a fall, a blow or overuse.
