Foot / Ankle Problems Treatable with Physical Therapy

foot problems

Plantar Fascitis – Plantar fascitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. A thick band of tissue, called the plantar fascia, runs across the bottom of your foot. This tissue can become inflamed and cause a stabbing pain in the foot. This condition is common in runners. Overweight people, pregnant women, and those who wear shoes with poor support are also at risk.

Ankle Joint Pain – The ankle is an intricate network of bones, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Strong enough to bear your body weight, your ankle joint can be prone to injury and pain. Ankle pain can occur on the inside and outside of the ankle, or along the Achilles tendon, which connects the muscles in your lower leg to your heel bone.

Distal Fibula Fracture – Distal fibula fractures are the most common fracture type to the ankle. The fibula is a smaller bone that parallels the tibia in the lower leg and makes up the lateral, or outside of the anklebone.
